His job is a front line one, so he was regularly in mortal danger, and all of us knew it. We prayed for him often and together, wrote him lots of letters and drew lots of pictures. The children hardly ever worried. There wasn't any need. Though I didn't sleep soundly for nearly a year because of worry, my children never knew it, and continued on blissfully. They are able to make incredible changes on a regular basis without concern, because I never let them know that life is scary. Even if their daddy is stressed, they are unconcerned if I'm not. Mother's attitude counts for everything; never underestimate your power.
