More Fabulous than Movie Stars

March 2, 2011 @ 4:03 pm | Filed under: Author stuff

From a delightful letter by two sixth-grade girls in Ohio:

“We are collecting autographed pictures of our favorite book people. Mrs. E[.] says people who make books are more fabulous than movie stars. We would go crazy if you sent us one for our author/illustrator ‘Wall of Fame’ we are creating, if it is not too much trouble.”

It most certainly is not too much trouble. I’ll be honored to share space on that wall with other fabulous folks! (And please tell Mrs. E. I really like her outlook.) 😉

  1. How fabulous!!

  2. Um, er, I wish I could delete that, sorry my brain still hasn’t switched on today. I could have used a more original word than “fabulous.” I didn’t actually do it on purpose. How wonderful … how flattering … how delightful …

  3. I love that you care enough to share it here…and respond to the girls! Many authors do not.

  4. That’s really wonderful. I love teachers who really encourage a love of books, not just reading as a assignment.

My kids’ school has authors visit when possible and it makes such a difference in the students’ appreciation of writing.

  5. You’ve been a rock star in my daughter’s lives (and mine) for quite some time. Mrs. E is clearly one insightful educator!

  6. Dear Lissa,
We already KNEW you were more fabulous than a movie star. Now others will show proof!
