Our next chat takes place on Thursday, December 5 at 8 P.M. EST.
Sophie and Kelly and I were tossing around possible topics for our next chat, and homeschooling came up. Seems like librarians are always asking about and wondering about working with homeschoolers. What can they do? What should they do? What works?
So I said, oh, we should have guests. And I had a short dream list of possibilities: the two people who, in talking about homeschooling, makes me want to have kids just so I can homeschool them.
They are, of course, Melissa Wiley and Quinn Cummings. And both these terrific women said YES. So Melissa Wiley (@melissawiley on Twitter) and Quinn Cummings (@quinncy) will be joining us on December 5.

we have a very homeschool friendly library, always willing to pull books for our latest study. one thing that is really helpful is if they will buy books or videos homeschoolers request. I have had varying luck with this, depending on the librarian. I only request things that i know would be useful to the general population (not just homeschool curriculum) and i so appreciate when those requests are taken seriously. homeschoolers dont have a lot of time to waste on twaddly books, we are looking for materials that inspire and engage, so when we make a request, it is usually something of quality. of course, budgets are slim and not every wish can be granted, but i would like librarians to know that we homeschool moms have discerning tastes, so listen to us when we ask. 🙂

Fabulous! And I really like your header picture, the colours are so warm and soft and inviting, and the picture itself is charming. It reminds me of some maps of USA I recently saw which had been filled in by British people. Very funny. I’m sure I’m remembering inexactly, but … Montana was part of the great swathe entitled “The Midwest” and in at least one map North Dakota was simply labelled “Who Cares?”
