Apologies for the light blogging this past week. We’ve had some happy distractions (expected) and unhappy computer woes (unexpected—alas for poor Marge), but everything should be back to normal next week. In the meantime, there are plenty of laughs at this week’s Carnival of Kid Comedy, hosted by Loni of Joy in the Morning. (And have you heard Loni’s exciting news?)

In 2006, a year after I began this blog, I coined the term Tidal Homeschooling to describe my family’s homeschooling style, an ebb and flow of
high tide (planned, Charlotte Mason-ish) and low tide (unschoolish, delight directed) learning. You’ll sometimes see me call it Tidal Learning. Seventeen years later (and counting), the metaphor still works. At the time of this writing (January 2023), I’m enjoying tidal homeschooling with Huck and Rilla, my two youngest, now in their teens.
