Hey, I just finished the last Charlotte book and I sobbed at the scene where George dies and Martha encourages Charlotte. What a wonderful book.
I do have one question, though. Didn’t canning, as we know it, not really come around until later? It was actually invented by Napoleon’s army cook to preserve food for the soldiers, but I’m not sure about the time frame. Just a thought… Every time I came across a reference to canning, I would think, “I have to ask Melissa about that.” LOL! So, I ask you…
