From Journey North:
World Citizens Needed to Solve International Mystery
Calling all emissaries of inquiry. Ten secret Mystery Classes have gone deep undercover around the globe. In fact, they’re so hidden that their location might never be located again–that is, unless YOU join together as citizens of world to find them. You’ll connect, collaborate and compete to solve this international mystery. (How secret are the locations? They’re so top secret that details of their whereabouts are not even known here at Journey North–except in the minds of one or two people, and they’re not talking!).
There’s no time to delay. The hunt begins Monday, and you’ll only have eleven weeks of sleuthing before you’ll be asked to solve THE mystery: “Where in the World Do You Think Our Ten Secret Mystery Classes are Located?”

Geography
For those who may have missed Love2Learn Mom’s comment the other day: The Map Guy is a blog where homeschoolers share ideas and resources for the study of geography. The current study is on Europe. Loads of good links there—check it out!
Thanks for the heads-up, L2L Mom.
Some folks in Illinois have come up with something new: a “homeschool-along.” Sounds similar to the kind of group artist and composer studies that take place at Ambleside Online and 4 Real Learning. From the Homeschool-Along site:
A monthly topic will be picked and we will all homeschool along. The first topic is China/Chinese in honor of Chinese New Year. Anytime you do something about the topic or find something cool about the topic, share it right here.

Alicia at Studeo has posted a list of fun geography links. The Geospy game’s Africa quiz destroyed me. Ouch. Haven’t shown these sites to the kids yet…I just know Jane is going to leave me in the dust. Unless maybe I sneak in a lot of practice first….
Thanks for the great tips, Alicia!
Many thanks to Trina from our local homeschooling list who shared this link for an incredibly nifty way to multiply. Too cool!
There’s more unscrambling of states going on in our house today…we stumbled upon this cool U.S. map puzzle at Jungle Arcade. Random states fall down the right side of your screen, and you drag them into their correct places on the map, racing to be as fast as possible.
Rose keeps beating me!
