Congratulations! I was just reading in Cooks Illustrated how machine kneaded dough consistently turns out better because hand kneaded necessitates adding a touch too much flour to make it workable. I suppose that’s a little depressing, but there you have it.

In 2006, a year after I began this blog, I coined the term Tidal Homeschooling to describe my family’s homeschooling style, an ebb and flow of
high tide (planned, Charlotte Mason-ish) and low tide (unschoolish, delight directed) learning. You’ll sometimes see me call it Tidal Learning. Seventeen years later (and counting), the metaphor still works. At the time of this writing (January 2023), I’m enjoying tidal homeschooling with Huck and Rilla, my two youngest, now in their teens.
