What a sweet birthday surprise, and what a friendship you have! It’s a joy to witness.
BTW, I keep meaning to mention my own bit of luck . . I do have an Alice! 🙂 Our 4th little girl is 3 mos now. Her name is Alice, and the big girls call her Lissa (or Lissy or Miss-Liss-needs-a-kiss, but Lissa seems to be the stick-iest nickname). This post reminds me how much I hope that she’ll grow up to have the joy and graciousness that you two lovely ladies display.
Happy birthday, and happy homestretch before your own small one arrives.
