Not my favorite words to hear on the other end of the phone: "Cardiology. I have six calls ahead of you, can you please hold?"

Ouch! Awful words to hear. I often get “We don’t have any appointments available. Please call back again.” And again. And again. And again. You get the picture.

I hope you were not on the phone too long.

In 2006, a year after I began this blog, I coined the term Tidal Homeschooling to describe my family’s homeschooling style, an ebb and flow of
high tide (planned, Charlotte Mason-ish) and low tide (unschoolish, delight directed) learning. You’ll sometimes see me call it Tidal Learning. Seventeen years later (and counting), the metaphor still works. At the time of this writing (January 2023), I’m enjoying tidal homeschooling with Huck and Rilla, my two youngest, now in their teens.
