Potato Chip Science

Have any of you tried out the Potato Chip Science kit? It was one of the coolest things I saw at ALA last weekend and I’ve got one on the way…looks like something my gang will enjoy the heck out of. Would love to hear about your experiences with it. I’ll report back after we’ve had a go ourselves.

My oldest daughter got it from my parents for Christmas, but hasn’t opened it yet. She claims she’s “saving” it. ARGH! I need to remind her how much fun she could have with it.

In 2006, a year after I began this blog, I coined the term Tidal Homeschooling to describe my family’s homeschooling style, an ebb and flow of
high tide (planned, Charlotte Mason-ish) and low tide (unschoolish, delight directed) learning. You’ll sometimes see me call it Tidal Learning. Seventeen years later (and counting), the metaphor still works. At the time of this writing (January 2023), I’m enjoying tidal homeschooling with Huck and Rilla, my two youngest, now in their teens.
