This has it.

It seems Newsweek described Grand Rapids as a dying city. The people of Grand Rapids beg to differ.

  1. Awesome. I cried too. 🙂

  2. Ooh, that give me chills.

I kinda hate when pundits keep saying that type of thing. What does that mean, “dying?” If people are still living there — what the heck?! Just because we may not be able to live as we once used to doesn’t mean it’s all over.

    This was awesome.

  3. OH MY that was AMAAZING! Wept buckets. TAKE THAT NEWS WEEK!

  4. Wow. Me too. I cried. People CAN make a difference. We always have to remember that. And be reminded of that. Thanks Melissa!

  5. Thank you so much for posting this. I grew up in SW Michigan and it is such a vibrant community.

  6. Thanks so much! We just moved to Grand Rapids and I haven’t totally warmed up to it yet (must.make.friends.). But this totally helps. I’m going to repost it on my blog.
