I have been enjoying this series so much. And I love now how the relationship grows into learning. This to me is what education is all about. The public system gives information and hopes it will develop into a relationship between student and subject. But the most effective way of learning, if you can arrange it, is to watch where the relationships grow, and make information available for it.
(Not so long ago I seriously believed that, if you were a good enough teacher, you could help a student develop a relationship with any subject. And I still think that is desirable – but God, it is hard, hard work. And the other way happens effortlessly.)
