Camera Not Required
Some nights I sit down to blog and I know, in the back of my mind and elbowing forward, that I don’t have a photo to share, an image to balance the big chunky blocks of text. I know that I myself am charmed and soothed by those blogs that give me a lovely thousand-word image at the top of the page, and I would like to be able to give that gift back, every time.
It’s a lot harder, though, to take a good picture than to write a post. For me, at least. I’ve taken fifty-eleven photos of our sunflowers and not one of them’s a keeper. My camera and I are getting along about as well as Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Any day now a monstrous crow is going to swoop down upon us, and then what?
So: no picture, and scarcely any post, for that matter. Luckily, when words (and pictures) fail me, I’ve got him.

I never come here for photos, I come for the wonderful words. You could write 15 or 20 great big chunky paragraphs and I would happily read them, with or without photos.

Oh, and I actually mean that, I’m not just flattering you.

I agree. I adore your posts. Photos of your kids definitely make my day, but it’s the stories and thoughts that I come to find. Do don’t ever feel bad about a “wordy” post – write away!!!
