Heard from two friends that yesterday’s post isn’t displaying the YouTube clip on iPad. Sorry about that! It’s visible on my laptop so I didn’t realize. πŸ™‚ Here’s the direct link for those who missed it: The Adventure of EnglishΒ episode one: The Birth of a Language. We’re deep into episode two now and thoroughly enjoying ourselves.

Thanks for the heads-up, Ellie and Edith!

Thanks for all the relinking, Lissa πŸ™‚ I’ve ordered the first two dvds from the library — I am fairly positive my kids and I are going to really enjoy it — sounds perfect for us, especially as we’ll be doing an in-depth British history 1500-1900 starting in Dec/Jan, and it’s always nice to dip into subjects bit by bit, from various angles, before we take the big plunge πŸ™‚

Is that Mark Heap reciting the Miller’s Tale? Seriously? I’m kind of freaking out. I just zoomed to the credits. That is him! Thomas Brown from Lark Rise to Candleford and Philip #2 from SPY. He’s really good!

THAT’S who he is! I knew I knew him. It was driving me crazy!
