What would you like to chat about on Periscope?

Periscope trial

I’ve been meaning for a while now to give Periscope a try, because I think it would be a great platform for the kind of book- and resource-sharing I like to do here on the blog. This evening I decided to pop on for a trial run, just to see how the platform worked. To my surprise, viewers started arriving within seconds! I spent about ten minutes chatting with some very supportive friends, and I loved it. I’m hooked. This is something I can have a lot of fun with.

I’d love to know what topics you’d be interested in hearing me chat about. Today’s viewers gave me some excellent suggestions, including doing some read-alouds of my work. I’m keeping a list of ideas and will try to do a scope at least once a week, if I can work out some better lighting than what I was getting in my bedroom for today’s impromptu recording.

Because I hadn’t yet signed up with katch.me to archive my scopes, this one will only be around for the next 20-something hours. By tomorrow evening (Pacific time), it’ll be gone. (Sunday note: I was wrong! Katch.me caught it after all.) I’ll aim for another round early next week, so let me know in the comments here what you’d like to chat about! And thanks so much to the sweet friends who dropped by and encouraged me with all those happy little hearts bubbling up on my screen. 🙂

Feeling all aflutter, Lissa, having an internet connection that is finally working well enough to read blogs …and your latest post was my first…and it led me to your spontaneous/inaugural periscope video…and after I was getting used to the delight of seeing and hearing you…there was my daybook! …your daybook…on camera…. *it’s* inaugural video debut. Now I want to find those planner ones you mentioned, and Julie Bogart’s and goodness knows what else, but I think that is enough excitement for this late at night and I will open a book instead. But congratulations and thank you, as ever, for your love for my creations. xo

Lesley, I’ll do a much better walkthrough of my Daybook in a future Periscope. The glimpse I gave in this one doesn’t begin to do it justice. I just love it so much I can’t help talking about it. 🙂

Last night as I lay in bed I watched the sun come up in Paris. What a strange, lovely world we’ve built. 🙂

It was so lovely to have you pop up on Periscope, Melissa! 🙂 As a Brave Writer employee, I’ve been watching quite a few of Julie’s Scopes which land perfectly in our lunch hour. It’s so lovely to be able to participate live with Julie and with you!! 🙂

Let me know when you remember in which art store you found the brush pen. We live up in the mountains (Pine Valley) but come “down the hill” into San Diego on Thursdays for co-op and/or tutoring, and we run our errands afterward. I love losing myself in Blick on India Street which is where I get the nibs and inks for my dip pens. 🙂

I’d love to see you do a Scope on writing instruments and papers; that would be so much fun. And it helps our kids to want to write when we change up our writing instruments.

Today is set aside for apple picking. Our Pippins are teensy but delicious!! I love our town in the fall; we’ve already been down into the 30’s at night and have changed to flannel sheets–so cozy!! 🙂

Take care and have a lovely weekend! I look forward to seeing you on Periscope in the future!

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂
