Current Read-Alouds
January 4, 2012 @ 8:57 am | Filed under: Books
To Jane, Rose, and Beanie: David Copperfield. (At twenty minutes a day, we figure it will take us in the neighborhood of 100 days.)
To Rose, Beanie, and Rilla: The Family Under the Bridge. (Last time I read this aloud, Jane was about Rilla’s age. Eep!)
To Wonderboy, Rilla, and Huck: new Elephant and Piggie books appeared under the Christmas tree, so they are dominating our read-aloud time this week.
At night, Scott continues his read-aloud of The Return of the King. His voices are the best.
Jane of Lantern Hill
Rillabooks (and others)
Where the Day Took Us

Can my older kids Skype in for Scott’s read-aloud? They love that book but I don’t do voices.

We just read FUTB (I had previously read it to Ian a few years ago) in November. Such a charming story. And Caroline got her first Elephant and Piggie readers from the library today! We had a good chuckle together over the priceless facial expressions in “Elephants Cannot Dance.”
Can’t wait until your Fox and Crow book comes out … maybe she’ll be ready to read it on her own by then!

I just noticed a pub date at GoodReads, of all places! It’s so funny to log in there and see my not-yet-pub’d books on my home page. Fox & Crow is Aug 7th and Inch & Roly (a level 1 reader from Simon & Schuster) is Aug 28th–same day as my middle-grade from McElderry. Going to be a busy month!
